Joey Barton: Everton petrify me

Joey Barton says he is “petrified” thinking about Everton's future.

Everton are 11th in the Premier League table, having won only eight of their 26 games this season.

Barton, an Everton fan, said that he has no confidence in manager Roberto Martinez.

"Everton petrify me. This summer Barkley, Stones, Lukaku, Coleman could all potentially leave Everton - what are you left with?" he asked on 5 live Sport.

"There was a solid foundation until Martinez turned up. It's a dangerous precedent. Just look at Wigan - his teams historically cannot defend."
