Stoke have signed defender Kevin Wimmer from Tottenham for £18m.
The 24-year-old, who has won eight caps for Austria, has signed a five-year-deal with the Potters.
Wimmer joined Tottenham from Cologne for an undisclosed fee in 2015, but made only four starts in the Premier League last season.
"Kevin is an undoubted talent. He will significantly add to the quality of the group of players that I already have," Stoke manager Mark Hughes said.
Wimmer becomes Stoke's seventh signing of the summer and the fourth defender, after Bruno Martins Indi from Porto, Josh Tymon on a free transfer and Kurt Zouma on loan from Chelsea.
Forward Jese Rodriguez has also signed on a season-long loan from Paris St-Germain, while midfielder Darren Fletcher and winger Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting joined on free transfers.
Meanwhile, Wimmer's arrival has paved the way for Germany centre-back Philipp Wollscheid to leave Stoke, with his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Wollscheid, 28, joined Stoke on loan in January 2015 and then signed permanently in May 2015 on a three-year deal, but spent last season on loan at Wolfsburg. He has now joined French side Metz.

Stoke have a fairly decent team now and I think they will cause the big teams a few problems this season.
This is called supply and demand and return on investment. Spurs are the best club in the country at living within their means. They assembled the first eleven for £85M including Kane, Alli et al. Spurs have the best defence in the EPL and have plenty of cover. Other clubs have a poor defence and some clubs like Arsenal have no defence at all so the fix is expensive.
Stoke have a very good player and for a reasonable price, 24 and an established international.
When he got the chance to play in 15 /16 he was immense and everyone at Tottenham knew he was a real talent.
His leaving just shows how much the lad wants to play,
GOODLUCK KEV!!
There is one article on this website today saying that Spurs have a thin squad and need cover in defence (as well as for Harry Kane) before the deadline, then this article saying they have sold ANOTHER good player - a defender, at that.
I'm a Spurs fan, but I am baffled.
It was clear last season that they only had a first 11, not a squad.
Seems like a pretty solid defender from what I've seen, will be a good addition.
Also credit to Stoke for how many of their signings have been for free or on loan - this one wasn't exactly a bargain but they've certainly had plenty of them.
Why rubbish your own players Pelton???
