Oumar Niasse: Crystal Palace make offer to Everton

Crystal Palace have agreed a fee with Everton for striker Oumar Niasse, but a £23m bid for Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala has fallen through.

Niasse, who had also been a £10m target for Brighton, spent last year at Hull, where he scored five goals in 20 games.

Everton paid Lokomotiv Moscow £13.5m for him 18 months ago, but the Senegalese made just five appearances.

Palace were also hopeful of signing Frenchman Mangala, 26, but were unable to complete a deal.

Looks like Newcastle have been massively let down by Ashley yet again in the transfer market. Expected them to spend big this summer but now looks like another struggle to stay up. Feel for the fans who had so much hope. Cant see Benitez staying for long in this situation; he at least has bigger ambitions.

Come on Palace stop messing about and just pay the 30 million !!!

We already know from last season how good he was, plus he wants to come to us !!

With all the money prem clubs have now, why on earth arent CP upping their offer to 30 for Sakho? He was a revelation there last season. I cant believe theyd go for Mangala over Sakho for the sake of a couple of mil.
Then again, I cant believe Klopp doesnt play him over Lovren

I wonder if this is just half hearted by palace and they're letting Liverpool know they have options so won't be held to ransom over sakho...... at least I hope that's what's happening

@17 some pretty terrible players have been picked for England and played Premier league games. Stewart Downing won 30 odd caps!

Every national team has their share of players who win more caps than they deserve.

No offence to the team or the players involved, but this reeks of desperation.

I like Palace as a club but you have got to fear for them a bit this season.

Niassse never complained at Everton he tried his best it didnt work out for him, respect him for that, hope its works out at another club.

I only hope Sakho gets brought back into the Liverpool squad if he's not sold. He's an excellent defender and has stayed professional since being outcast. Certainly deserving of another chance and would soon be back into the first 11. Relying on Klavan as the main backup is very worrying.

To all Crystal palace fans , you can have him for free !! He is rubbish over paid player who cannot read the game at all I should know I've endured two seasons watching him , although he could turn into a legend at another club and probably will .

If i was a palace fan i wouldn't want Mangela anywhere near the club. He's a terrible defender and gives us Man U fans a source of amusement. Not good enough for the Premier League.

Palace should ditch De Boer now. Change your style, fine but do it over 2-3 seasons, gradually. The Palace team is actually quite talented, Niasse and Mangala or Sakho would improve them but Townsend, Benteke, Zaha, Cabeye, Van Aanholt, Puncheon, Schlupp - should be mid table at least. But those players, you can tell are more suited to direct and pace.
