Match ends, Manchester United 4, Burton Albion 1.
Marcus Rashford scored twice as holders Manchester United overpowered Burton Albion at Old Trafford to reach the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Championship Burton made nine changes and fell 1-0 down when Rashford dinked the ball over keeper Connor Ripley.
England forward Rashford made it 2-0 with a 20-yard finish before Jesse Lingard's deflected shot found the net.
Anthony Martial added the fourth from a Rashford assist, Lloyd Dyer scoring a stoppage-time consolation.
United will play away at Swansea City in the fourth round.
Elsewhere, it was a night devoid of shocks as Chelsea put five past Championship Nottingham Forest, Everton eased past Sunderland and Arsenal beat Doncaster Rovers 1-0.
The closest to a shock came at the Hawthorns as West Brom scored a 72nd-minute equaliser against Manchester City before losing to Leroy Sane's second of the night.

United's strength in depth shines through
Keeper Sergio Romero made his first start since United's Europa League final triumph against Ajax in May, while Michael Carrick captained the team on his first appearance of the season.
Rashford and Juan Mata were the only two players who started the 4-0 win over Everton last Sunday to make the team, but there was still no starting place for Luke Shaw.
Since returning from injury in last season's Community Shield, the former Southampton defender has started just 17 of 72 games.
Shaw came on at the start of the second half by which time United were 3-0 ahead.
It was a night of positives for Jose Mourinho, although the United boss is likely to have been unimpressed when 21-year-old substitute keeper Joel Castro Pereira dropped the ball allowing Dyer to score with a few seconds to play.
Burton's changes puzzle Mills
Burton, 19th in the Championship table, face QPR in the league on Saturday, yet Nigel Clough's decision to make nine changes puzzled at least one pundit.
"A lot of these Burton players will never get a chance to play at Old Trafford again," said former England defender Danny Mills on BBC Radio 5 live before the tie.
"They are coming here knowing however many changes Manchester United make, United will still be unbelievably strong. Will Burton win the Carabao Cup? No.
"The manager is probably thinking 'do my players need an extra game?'
"However, those Burton players who have been rested are missing out on the one opportunity to play against a Jose Mourinho side at Old Trafford.
"It's a once-in-a-lifetime moment for some of them."

A run out for some players. First half was ok, second was a stroll about.
Good to see Luke Shaw get a half. Rashford’s second goal was a cracker.
Swansea away in the next round.
From a LFC fan who doesn't need to rile Utd fans, much as the many decent Utd fans don't rile LFC.
And guess what, as Utd won, the trolls have gone to bed early 😀
"Any team can win a cup tie"
Obviously not! In 2 cup ties against Sevilla and Leicester how many wins have loserpool had?
As for your name ....... anyone with half a brain could tell you what's gone wrong at loserpool, but seeing that you're a scouser ......

@36 who can't remember the last tough cup draw Man United got - FA Cup, Chelsea away just a few months ago. Man City in the League Cup last season. Case closed, you muppet.
There there, dry you eyes!
What like Sevilla and Leicester?

Are you looking forward to comment 96 tonight?
I wonder what conspiracy theory you'll come up with tonight scouser?

GGMU.
Man City in League Cup last season
Chelsea in FA Cup last season
Hope this helps
Regurgitating the same old boring cack we've all heard many times before is bad enough but doing it more than once in the same thread ?
Come on is that really all you've got? At least come up with something original!
Good win you can only beat what's in front of you & we did
Great to see the players playing with smiles on their faces & all seem very happy which can only be a good thing
Don't worry fatty you'll soon be out of Europe, the FA cup and the PL, then you can rest your players till next season and we all know next season is your year.
