Manchester City Women reached the quarter-finals of the Women's Champions League after beating LSK Kvinner 2-1 to progress 7-1 on aggregate.

The visitors, trailing 5-0 from the first leg, took the lead against the run of play when Marte Berget slid in to turn home Emilie Haavi's centre.

Izzy Christiansen swept in a through ball from Nikita Parris to equalise just after half-time.

Parris met Melissa Lawley's low cross to make it 2-1 with 17 minutes left.

The victory was marred by an injury suffered by left-back Megan Campbell, who was taken off on a stretcher early in the second half after several minutes of treatment to her right leg.

It was one-way traffic for most of the first period, with Norway international goalkeeper Cecilie Fiskerstrand making good saves to deny Jill Scott, Steph Houghton and Demi Stokes before LSK Kvinner took the lead in the 17th minute.

That goal, which was the visitors' only effort on target in the first 45 minutes, was the first City have conceded in European competition this season.

Parris sent a header wide from close range and Christiansen saw a hooked effort cleared off the line as the hosts searched for an equaliser before the break.

England international Christiansen levelled moments after the restart to end any hopes that LSK Kvinner, who had already qualified for next season's competition after finishing as 2017 champions of the Norwegian Toppserien, had of a comeback at the Academy Stadium.

City keeper Ellie Roebuck palmed away a powerful free-kick from Haavi in the closing stages to maintain the home side's 100% record this season.

The Women's Super League One leaders, who reached the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, join Chelsea Women in the draw for the last eight, which will take place on Friday, 24 November.
