Alexis Sanchez: Man City boss Pep Guardiola still keen to sign Arsenal striker

Manchester City remain keen on Alexis Sanchez but may wait until the summer before making another attempt to sign the Arsenal forward.
City had a bid accepted for the 29-year-old Chilean on deadline day in August but the move collapsed.
Blues manager Pep Guardiola has discussed transfer targets for the next 18 months with the club's hierarchy.
There are fears signing Sanchez in January could disturb the balance of Guardiola's table-topping squad.
It is understood City think Arsenal believe keeping the former Barcelona player was a mistake and would be willing to do business next month.
However, with Guardiola's side 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League, there is a feeling bringing in Sanchez then may cause disruption.
City and Arsenal agreed a deal for the striker in the summer, but it was dependent on the Gunners replacing him.
When they were unable to sign Monaco forward Thomas Lemar, Sanchez's move was scuppered.
It is felt he still wants to work with Guardiola and, despite interest from Paris St-Germain among others, would join City at the end of the season, when he will be available on a free transfer.
With midfielder Yaya Toure's contract expiring in the summer, Guardiola would like to sign a defensive midfielder, a central defender and another attacker to take him through to the end of the 2018-19 season.
Talks have taken place over Southampton's Virgil van Dijk, while West Brom's Jonny Evans - who City were keen to sign in the summer - and Real Sociedad's Inigo Martinez are possible alternatives.

The losers, the host of young English talent Man City have that will now find it even more difficult to get game time further harming the national team.
In hindsight, Arsenal shouldn't have held on to him. Wright is spot on - he doesn't look bothered.
Would he realistically get in the Man City first team?
Could you drop any of Sane, Sterling or Aguero?
I don't think it's the right move for him as a player, but if it's about money - which it probably is - then I guess it is the right move for him.
A few years ago clubs had to work hard to achieve success through supporters love of the team, great coaching, investment in youth academies, reserve teams, etc.
Now some foreign despot buys a club and throws money at his new toy.
Man City is a great club but historically barely in the top 10.
The haters may say that MCFC have no history but they did MAKE history by being the first English team to win all three domestic trophies and a European trophy (1968-1970).
There was football before the premiership
Somebody’s head should roll over that
What kind of talks? Talks between Man City staff? Talks between the player and Man City? Talks between the clubs? What a sketchy comment. Let's hope that Southampton know all about it or they'll be frothing at their mouth's again and threatening to complain to the FA.
I'm guessing from your comment you're just a jealous spurs fan or embarrassed united fan given the disappointment your manager has delivered. Arsenal are struggling a bit sure, but so are all the other teams except city.
Money, money, money.
Sterling and Sane are young and in great form, would Sanchez really want to play second fiddle? Would Pep drop one of them for Sanchez?
City are already head and shoulders above everyone else, feels like this would be overkill. Would be nice to see them bring in someone younger, or even an academy product.
