Manchester City look set to make a final offer to sign defender Jonny Evans from West Bromwich Albion. Tony Pulis wants £30 million for the player, and City are still waiting for the right timing and the perfect opportunity to get him.

The timing and the opportunity seem to have arrived with two bits of very good news for the Blues. The first comes from David Anderson of the Mirror, who says that Arsenal have been informed that Evans won’t join them and prefers a move to Manchester.

Another bit of great news for City comes from the City Watch feed, which reports that Inter Milan sporting director has told the Italian press that they won’t be making any more signings this summer.

But what does Inter Milan have to do with City and Jonny Evans? Well, Inter wanted Eliaquim Mangala on loan, but City want to sell the Frenchman. As we told you yesterday City are considering sending Mangala to West Brom as part of the deal for Evans, and Albion are tempted to accept.

Given Inter Milan look out of the race for Mangala, the door is open for his move to West Brom and Arsenal are no longer competing for Evans. Time to get the deal done, City.
