Arsenal will not accept cash-only offer from Manchester City for Alexis Sánchez

The Gunners want a replacement, and they want one from City

Manchester City continue their pursuit of Arsenal superstar Alexis Sánchez, but things have been made a little difficult thanks to Arsenal’s incompetence.

The Gunners have known for months that Alexis would not sign a new contract and was keen on moving to the Blues, who made a £50 million bid on Tuesday. Arsenal rejected the offer and want more money, which is fair, but now they may not accept the bid because they can’t find a replacement.

And they won’t accept any cash-only offers from the Blues unless City use a player in the deal.

Arsenal have asked for Raheem Sterling, but City categorically rejected the idea and will not offer any player as part of the deal for Alexis. Unless City make a super cash offer that convinces Arsenal to sell him, this could not happen. It’s still early on Deadline Day, so many other things will still happen.

Oh, and Arsenal are trying to sign a replacement after all, with their long-time target Julian Draxler from PSG linked in German papers.

Let’s wait for further developments.
