Ever since they learned that Sancho rejected a professional contract and started missing training sessions to force a move away from the Etihad, City have made an effort to avoid losing Sancho to a Premier League club. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United showed strong interest in the player, but City made the negotiations “almost impossible” according to the Independent’s report.
Dortmund had to fight off interest from RB Leipzig, which they did successfuly, and according to the Independent Dortmund and City have agreed a fee in excess of the €210,000 City would be due through FIFA rules.
The deal could be announced as early as today, and City might regret not giving Sancho a chance in the first team. At least we won’t see him playing for another top Premier League club.
