Manchester City are back in action in the Premier League this Saturday when they return home to the Etihad with what seems like a very easy match on paper against Crystal Palace.

The Blues top the table and look unstoppable at the moment, but Palace will be desperate to get a point and will give their all to get a shocking result at City’s home. The Eagles are yet to score a goal or pick a point this season, but that makes them even more dangerous since they’ll come to the Etihad with nothing to lose.

City will need to be at the top of their game to get a win everyone expects, so expect a really strong team on Saturday. Speaking of expecting teams, these are our predicted lineups for this game:

MANCHESTER CITY

Pep Guardiola rotated his team heavily against West Brom, so there’s no reason to rest his main players again even though there’s a Champions League game on Tuesday against Shakhtar Donetsk. What we’ll see on Saturday is probably a very similar team to the one that destroyed Watford FC last weekend.

In goal, Éderson Moraes returns with Kyle Walker, John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi and Benjamin Mendy in front of him. There’s a chance Vincent Kompany comes into the back four, but it’s more likely that the captain will be on the bench for this one and starts on Tuesday.

In midfield, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva return either side of Fernandinho, who played in the second half against West Brom but should be fit enough to start. Up front, Sergio Agüero is back and will be the man in the middle with Gabriel Jesus on one wing and either Leroy Sané and Raheem Sterling on the other, and Sané has the edge thanks to his amazing performance at The Hawthorns.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Roy Hodgson is unlikely to make any changes to the team that lost but played solid football against Southampton last week. The only change should be at the back with Mamadou Sakho making his first start since signing for the club permanently, and that would mean young Timothy Fosu-Mensah drops to the bench.

Joel Ward, Scott Dann and Jeffrey Schlupp will play with Sakho and complete the back four, with Wayne Hennessey starting in goal and hoping to make some big saves to stop the Blues. In midfield, James McArthur, Yohan Cabaye and Chelsea loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek will start and hope to slow down the City playmakers. Jason Puncheon will start on the left side of the front three, but he’ll often drop deep into midfield and help his teammates without the ball.

The two most attack-minded players on the Palace side will be Andros Townsend and Christian Benteke, and they should be ready to have only a few scoring opportunities coming their way. If they’re efficient enough to use their pace and get those chances on target, City could be in trouble.
