After learning about the extent of the injury to Benjamin Mendy, Manchester City have another piece of bad news about one of the team's biggest stars.

According to a report from Argentine newspaper Diário Olé, City striker Sergio Agüero has been involved in a car accident after traveling to the Netherlands for a music concert. Agüero was coming back to his hotel in Amsterdam on a taxi when the vehicle collided head-on with a pole, and thankfully Sergio was protected by his seat belt.

Unfortunately, Agüero didn't escape without injury as he broke one of his ribs in the accident. Sergio has already been ruled out of Argentina's World Cup Qualifiers in October and will miss this weekend's match at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.

Some reports claim Agüero could miss up to two months of action with the broken rib, but we don't have any confirmation of that. Pep Guardiola will surely give more updates on Sergio's condition in his pre-match press conference on Friday, so we'll have that for you as well.
