As we do before every match here at Bitter and Blue, we give the fans an opportunity to participate in a contest and choose their lineup for the next Manchester City match. We’ve done the same for this weekend’s giant Premier League game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. And you clearly want the strongest possible lineup.

Unfortunately, the strongest possible City lineup has lost two of its most important players: Benjamin Mendy will be out until next April with a cruciate ligament injury, and Sergio Agüero suffered a fractured rib because of a car accident on Thursday night.

Agüero was actually the player with the most votes in the poll for the Chelsea game because we published the poll before his accident, so naturally he’s out and is replaced by Raheem Sterling in the front three. You chose Danilo in place of Mendy at left-back, and you don’t want three at the back against a Chelsea team famous for using that formation.

Below is the full lineup according to your votes. Thank you so much as always for playing along!

Bitter and Blue Community XI (4-3-3):

Éderson; Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Danilo; De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Silva; Sterling, Jesus, Sané
