David Silva is already a Manchester City legend, but he’s still interested in playing for the Blues a little more.

According to a report from the excellent Sam Lee of Goal, City and Silva have been in talks since July to extend the Spaniard’s contract for an extra year, which would keep David as a Blue until 2020. An announcement on Silva’s new deal could come in the next few weeks.

Once the deal is official, Silva could celebrate 10 years as a City player in 2020, and if he maintains the level we’ve seen in his first seven seasons, we will definitely witness one of best players in the history of the club showing his incredible talents for a full decade.

There were talks of David Silva returning to his boyhood club Las Palmas in Spain and end his career in La Liga once his City deal expires in 2019, but Las Palmas will have to wait.

This is obviously fantastic news as we’ll get to see Silva in Blue for the next three years, and it shows David’s commitment to the club. We love you, David.
