Spurs fans can sleep a little easier during this international break knowing that two of the team’s key English internationals — Harry Kane and Harry Winks — have withdrawn from the squad ahead of the team’s upcoming friendlies over the next week-and-a-half.

The news must’ve come as a bitter pill to swallow for England manager Gareth Southgate, with his English squad slated to face off in a couple of high-profile friendlies against Germany and Brazil in the coming days. Both Spurs players in question took knocks to the ankle/lower leg during Sunday’s match with Crystal Palace, but both players continued on in the game.

No one is quite sure about the severity of the injuries, and it’s unlikely there will be any official announcements made about them until Pochettino speaks at his press conference ahead of the North London Derby on Nov. 18.

With Dele Alli having already withdrawn from the squad with a hamstring injury after missing Sunday’s match , it’s a dicey but potentially helpful coming two weeks for Spurs’ English contingent. If they are mostly healthy and just need some rest to make sure they are feeling tip top for the NLD, this news is very much pleasing. But if the injuries are more serious than we think -- something we won’t really know until lineups are released an hour prior to kickoff on the 18th — then it’s definitely not great, Bob!
