Happy Tuesday Spursland!

So I saw that movie IT earlier this week, and after settling in for a damn good scaring I’m disappointed to report that barely a single hair on the back of my neck was raised. When you’re getting a weekly dose of the real-life occult nightmare that is the Wembley Curse, fictional horror loses its impact a little bit.

Spurs are theoretically going up against Apoel Nicosia in the Champions League this evening, although based on the state of our injury list it’s not inconceivable that we’ll be seeing Hugo Lloris and ten posters of Harry Kane lining up against the Cypriot side.

Speaking of whom- the Guardian has published a hilariously off-the-mark piece about our ‘Arry today in which they had the temerity to compare him to two mortal men.

Elsewhere in football...

Cesc Fabregas has opened up about the difficult time he’s faced over the past year under Antonio Conte... literally underneath him, I assume. You’ve not really experienced proper discipline for dropping points against a midtable side until you’ve felt the brutal sting of a Conte Boston Crab.

Former Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has been fined for saying some pwopah nawty things about the Asian Football Confederation.

Hearts and Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty has given a brave interview to the BBC regarding his struggles with a gambling addiction, hopefully helping the game take another positive step towards a place where all pro footballers feel able to come forward and talk about their mental health.

And finally...

Wayne Rooney might finally get a proper crack at breaking down some defences this season as the possible star of a new Everton-themed Angry Birds-style game.
