Harry Kane has tied another Premier League record today. Tottenham Hotspur’s homegrown striker has now tied former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard by winning December’s EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month award, for the sixth time. And he’s only 24!

Kane took home the monthly award after scoring eight goals in six games during the month of December. He won the award over Liverpool’s Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino, Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, Manchester City’s Nicolas Otamendi, Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic, and Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard.

Kane, typically, was pleased with the award and with tying Gerrard for the record, but also gave credit to his teammates who helped him achieve it.

“It’s amazing, I’m very proud of that. As always, big thanks to the team, it was a great month and it’s great to (equal) that record.

“Whenever I get around the box, I feel I can get a shot off quickly and of course the team have been creating great chances so I’m there to stick them in the back of the net. I feel good, I feel sharp so I guess I’ll just carry on.”

With Kane in the incredible form that he’s in right now, this is a record that will no doubt fall, probably even yet this season. In fact, with Kane only 24 and lots of great football ahead of him, it’s likely that he’ll tack on a lot more monthly titles before the end of his football career. Congratulations, Harry!

Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola won his fourth consecutive Premier League Manager of the Month award. Mauricio Pochettino was a nominee for that award.
