With Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs, and new boy Calum Chambers in the Squad for England’s recent Euro 2016 Qualifying matches, there are already five Arsenal boys in the first team fold.

Theo Walcott  is also sure to rejoin the squad following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with the pacey forward already back in full training for the Gunners.

Teams like Spain and Germany who have been so strong over the last decade or so usually have a core of players from one or two teams; Spain with Barcelona and Real Madrid, and Germany with Bayern Munich.

This combats one of the main problems that international teams experience, which is a lack of playing time together. When players spend the entire season together there is a natural cohesiveness which just can’t be built up in the short time most international teams have together; Arsene Wenger knows this.

“I am very proud when I see five England players wearing the Arsenal shirt and that we also have Walcott, who is not there yet,” Wenger said.

“We do some work to develop, so that these players are together for long time at Arsenal and develop together.

“Even for England it is important. If they can do well at Arsenal and play for England, England will be strong. That is for sure, because they will play against anybody in the world and, to have five or six players in the team, they know how to play, so the confidence grows.”
