(Video) Chelsea transfer news: Jose Mourinho discusses January plans

Jose Mourinho has been doing everything possible to downplay the problems at Stamford Bridge that have Chelsea in the midst of the worst Premier League title defense in history. He doubled-down on that position when he was asked about what the club plans to do during the January transfer window.

At Friday’s press conference, Mourinho revealed his plan for January: he has none – or at least, he has no intentions of making any changes to his personnel or to spend big on a marquee player.

‘I will not ask any change to the board for January. I am happy with my players, I trust the players,’ Mourinho said. ‘I don’t need to clean the dressing room. And I don’t need to ask the club to spend money in January.’

Chelsea have won just three of their first 12 fixtures and have only 11 points so far this season, leaving them 16th in the table. The club have allowed an average of 1.92 goals per game after allowing less than 1.0 goals per game over the last two seasons. Chelsea were also eliminated from the Capital One Cup this year in just the fourth round after winning the whole thing last season.

As a result, superstars like Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard are believed to pursued aggressively by other European clubs this January.

Mourinho has given no indication that he will resign at the end of the year if Chelsea fail to finish in the top four.
