Arsenal set for transfer battle with Man United and European giants over prolific talisman

Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid have all been put on high transfer alert by Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the most prolific forwards in Europe, and has continued his fine form this season with 18 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions.

In turn, it’s no surprise that he has admirers from all around Europe, with The Sun noting that his recent comments on his future have sparked all those interested parties into life.

“I don’t know if I will stay,” he is quoted as saying in the report. “I just think about playing good football right now. I want to give my best and win titles. I just think about the sport and nothing else.”

Arsenal, United, City and Real are all specifically mentioned in the report, but ultimately given what he can add to any team, it would be no surprise if there is even more interest from Europe in the Gabon international.

While his contract with Dortmund runs until 2020, there is evidently no rush to decide on his future and the Bundesliga outfit are in a strong position to demand a significant fee for the striker.

However, Thomas Tuchel will be desperate to avoid losing his services any time soon, but it may prove to be a difficult task with all the aforementioned clubs keen on adding more firepower to their respective squads in their pursuit of silverware.

On the face of it, Arsenal are arguably the most in-need side of a new striker despite Alexis Sanchez’s exceptional form so far this season. The Gunners have been criticised for years for not having a world-class forward who can guarantee 20 goals+ a season, and so perhaps Aubameyang could be the man to fill that void.
