Inter Milan have made an offer to Arsenal for 25-year-old Germany international Shkodran Mustafi, with the Italian side set to come in with a loan offer for the defender with the view to make the move permanent for a fee of £20M+ next summer, according to the Mirror.

Despite this being an ambitious move from Inter, the Serie A side are refusing to give on a deal for Mustafi, which has also prompted Juventus to make an enquiry for the 2014 World Cup winner at Arsene Wenger looks to make changes to his squad before the transfer window shuts next week, report the Mirror.

As reported by the Mirror, Inter are desperate to secure a deal for the 25-year-old, with the former Champions League winners receiving enough encouragement to make them believe that they have a chance to pull this move off.

Despite making 26 league appearances for the Gunners last season, Mustafi failed to put in consistent performances as the Gunners stumbled to a fifth place finish, meaning they missed out on Champions League football for the first time under current boss Arsene Wenger.

Should Inter end up being successful in their pursuit of Mustafi, it’ll be interesting to see who the Gunners go for as a replacement for the German international.
