Tottenham on verge of sealing £25m deal for PSG bad boy banned from UK

Tottenham are hoping to seal a £25m deal for PSG bad boy Serge Aurier ahead of the weekend.

The 24 year old has agreed personal terms with Tottenham, and the club are hoping to wrap up the deal before they meet Burnley on Sunday, according to the Express.

Tottenham have completed the signing of Davinson Sanchez from Ajax, and are looking for Aurier to replace Kyle Walker at right-back.

Aurier’s time with PSG has been beset with disclinary problems, with the player prevented from entering the UK last season for a Champions League tie at Arsenal after a conviction for assault.

Tottenham will also note the player was suspended by PSG after making obscene comments regarding Zlatan Ibrahimovic and former manager Laurent Blanc.

Aurier is available to leave PSG following the arrival of Dani Alves from Juventus. Though still technically banned from the UK, the defender is now thought to be appealing the decision.

Tottenham are still hoping to complete the signing of Everton’s Ross Barkley, who is out of contract in 2017.

Former midfielder Darren Anderton has concerns at the England midfielder’s role in the side.

“With the current setup, Ross will struggle to get into the team. I think if Barkley comes he’ll want some reassurance that he’ll be playing, but for me, I don’t know how you can change that front three of Kane, Alli and Eriksen – it’s arguably the best front three in the league”, he told the Express.
