Arsenal star turns down £35M move to bitter rivals, player favours Liverpool move as transfer saga drags on

Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has turned down a move to the Gunners’ bitter rivals Chelsea just a day after the two clubs agreed a £35M fee for the England international, according to Sky Sports.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, 24, is believed to be favouring a move to Liverpool instead of Chelsea as per Sky Sports, as Thursday’s transfer deadline looms ever large.

As reported by Sky Sports, Oxlade-Chamberlain’s current Arsenal deal runs out next summer, with the player set to either see out the remaining 11 months of his Gunners contract or move to Liverpool should the Reds have a bid accepted for the player.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has played in every one of Arsenal’s Premier League games so far this season, with the midfielder, who is currently on international duty with England, having met with boss Arsene Wenger ahead of his side’s embarrassing 4-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday to discuss the situation surrounding his future, report Sky Sports.

Should Oxlade-Chamberlain get his wish and secure a move to Liverpool with just two days of the window remaining, it’ll be worthwhile seeing what position the England international is deployed in by Jurgen Klopp as the Reds look to mount a serious title challenge this season.
