Tottenham set to delay move for Chelsea target as player’s injury problems puts Spurs off making move

Tottenham are weighing up the option of delaying their move for Everton star Ross Barkley due to the player’s ongoing injury problems, according to the Evening Standard.

With Spurs selling Kevin Wimmer to Stoke earlier this week, the Austrian’s departure is set to spark further transfer activity involving the north London side report the Evening Standard, however Everton star Barkley may not be one of the player’s the club end up signing, due to the club’s uncertainty over his injury record.

Barkley, who has been a long-term target for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, has recently suffered a hamstring injury that is set to keep the midfielder out for the rest of 2017 as per the Evening Standard.

As reported by the Evening Standard, the England international only has 11 months left on his current deal at Goodison Park, with Spurs’ bitter London rivals Chelsea also showing interest in the Englishman.

The issue Spurs are now debating is whether to sign Barkley before’s Thursday’s deadline as be without him for the first few months, or wait until January to make a move for the player, which would clear the way for other clubs to try and buy the 23-year-old, write the Evening Standard.

It’ll definitely going to be worthwhile keeping an eye on the situation surrounding Barkley as Thursday’s transfer deadline looms large.
