Fans left humiliated as Everton reveal very embarrassing sleeve sponsor

Everton have announced that smartphone and tablet app ‘Angry Birds’ is to become the club’s first ever sleeve sponsor, according to the club’s official site.

The logo of the video game will adorn a bird wearing the Everton home strip to signify the new multiyear partnership.

Rovio Entertainment, the game’s parent company, has seen their app being downloaded a world record 3.7 billion times since its birth in 2009.

Everton’s chief executive Robert Elstone said:

“We’re delighted that Rovio Entertainment has become Everton’s first shirt sleeve partner, “Angry Birds is one of the best-selling game apps of all time and is also a remarkable success story.”

However, some fans aren’t so sure if they see it as a ‘success’ and have voiced their opinions on social media:

Everton currently sit 17th and hover above the relegation zone on goal difference, although they may drop into the bottom three if they lose by three goals or more away at Manchester United this evening.

Ronald Koeman’s men suffered a heavy defeat on Thursday in the Europa League as they fell to a 3-0 defeat to Serie A outfit Atlanta.

Toffee fans will hope they can get a result at Old Trafford today or else its not just the birds that will be angry.

(Had to be done, sorry.)
