Man Utd fans have made it pretty clear that they’re going to continue to sing their controversial Romelu Lukaku song despite it being branded racist.
As reported by BBC Sport, anti-discrimination group Kick It Out slammed the “racist” chant for being “discriminatory and offensive” as it relates to the Belgian striker’s manhood and a racial stereotype.
In turn, Lukaku was quoted on the official Man Utd Twitter account as calling on supporters to “move on together” and avoid getting into trouble by continuing to sing the chant, as noted by BBC, but it appears as though they’ve not taken any notice.
According to The Mirror’s John Cross, as seen in the tweet below, they continued to sing it away at Stoke City on Saturday, with Lukaku bagging his eighth goal of the season as he continues his impressive goalscoring streak for the Red Devils.

It remains to be seen what the response to their actions is as they could land themselves in hot water having already been warned not to sing it, regardless of whether or not many argue that it’s not insulting or offensive at all.
In turn, it may take stricter action to enforce a ban on the chant, which is surely the next logical step if the relevant authorities feel so strongly about it.
