Man United lead Chelsea in attempt sign unsettled Premier League star, £50m January bid incoming

Man United are poised to make a January move for Tottenham’s Danny Rose as the England defender looks set to leave North London. The Red Devils will look to fight off competition from rivals Chelsea in securing a deal.

The Sun have reported that Jose Mourinho and Man United are preparing a £50m bid for the unsettled star.

Rose has been sidelined of late after suffering a ligament injury last season and was recently left out of Tottenham’s 2018 calendar which has thrust his future into fresh doubt.

If Rose was to arrive at Old Trafford it could be a devastating blow for his fellow Englishman Luke Shaw. Shaw has struggled ever since the arrival of Mourinho and will fall even further down the pecking order if United were to bring in the Tottenham left-back in the new year.

Shaw arrived from Southampton in 2014 but has struggled with his fitness under Mourinho with the Red Devils’ boss appearing to prefer other options at the left-back position.

While United now appear favorites to secure the signature of Rose, they are not the only Premier League heavyweights interested. The Daily Star have reported that Chelsea are also interested in securing a deal for the England star but maintain that United now lead the way.
