Bad news for Tottenham, Pochettino faces huge injury headache ahead of Man Utd showdown

With such an important game coming up, the last thing that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could have done with is a major injury concern.

Unfortunately for him and Spurs that’s what he’s got, and it couldn’t get any worse as it’s prolific talisman Harry Kane who was emerged as a doubt ahead of the encounter with Man Utd on Saturday.

According to The Sun, the 24-year-old is ‘in a race against time to be fit’ having sustained a hamstring injury last weekend in the win over Liverpool, and so Tottenham will have to carefully monitor him in the next 24 hours to determine whether or not he can feature against the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Tottenham will undoubtedly be desperate to see him be involved as the in-form England international has scored 13 goals in 12 games so far this season, and was on the mark with a double against Liverpool last time out to continue his excellent record.

In turn, seeing him miss the game with United would be a huge blow, while potentially bringing in Fernando Llorente to replace him in the starting line-up would likely force Pochettino to change the way his team play to fit the strengths of the Spaniard.

Nevertheless, given the nature of the injury, Spurs can’t afford to take any risks with Kane regardless of the opposition, as the last thing that they’ll want to do is aggravate the problem and see him forced to miss an extended period of time all because they tried to rush him back for the important showdown in Manchester.
