Arsenal came from 1-0 down to fight back to a 2-1 victory against Swansea at the Emirates.

Samuel Clucas gave the away side the lead on the 22nd minute with Swansea heading into half-time the happier side. However, second half goals from Sead Kolasinac and Aaron Ramsey just seven minutes apart from each other ensured that Arsenal were able to secure the three points.

Man of the Match

Sead Kolasinac has impressed since his summer arrival to Arsenal and today’s performance only helped to maintain his position as a fan favourite amongst the Gunners. The star looked solid all day despite some of the Arsenal defensive unit looking unsafe during the first-half and he was even able to cap a fine performance off with a goal in the second-half.

Flop of the Match

Despite being part of the winning side there really are question marks starting to form over Per Mertesacker. The German almost gifted Swansea a second goal after dwelling on the ball before seeing it stolen away from him in a crucial area by Swansea attacker Jordan Ayew. Had the Swansea forward converted his chance then the Gunners would have likely gone on to slip to a defeat. Can the aging defender continue to play in this Arsenal side given the fact that his lack of pace can often lead to him being branded as a liability?

Stat of the Match

Reaction

Arsenal fans were relieved to walk away from the Emirates with the three points after a first-half scare and understandably there was a lot of love for Kolasinac. Arsenal players also took to twitter to express their relief for today’s win.
