Maybe there’s method to his madness, but Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho seems intent on dragging on his war of words with some of the club’s supporters.
The Portuguese tactician took issue with some of the criticism that his side faced in their 1-0 win over Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday, as he understandably defended his players.

BBC pundit blasts Mourinho: “And he calls himself the ‘Special One’!”
As reported by the Metro, Mourinho firstly reacted to jeers when he substituted Marcus Rashford for Anthony Martial, with the latter going on to score the winning goal against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Not content with leaving it there, the United boss also launched a defence of Romelu Lukaku, as per The Independent, and continued to question some supporters while respecting their right to voice their opinion given that they pay good money to come and watch the team.
In fairness, the Belgian international is struggling as he has failed to find the back of the net in the last five games, but that shouldn’t be enough to dismiss his overall tally of 11 goals in 15 games so far this season.
Surely that would be more than enough to get his point across, but Mourinho’s decided to put forward what many have deemed to be a subtle dig at supporters again in the programme for the Benfica clash at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
As seen in the tweet below from Andy Mitten, the ‘Special One’ has seemingly taking a cheeky pop by suggesting that he hopes fans enjoy the game more than the Tottenham one, which can be connected to the above points.
Another Mourinho comment on fans in tonight’s United Review: “I hope that you enjoy the game more than some of you did against Tottenham.”

It remains to be seen what the reaction is like on Tuesday night, but it seems a little strange for Mourinho to continue on with this issue. Fans have a right to express their displeasure, and Mourinho has the right to defend his players. However, surely if Man Utd are going to be successful this season, they all need to be on the same page and divisive comments won’t help.
That’s a sentiment shared by many supporters reacting to the tweet above…
These are all steps towards his acrimonious exit next summer I reckon. He just can’t help being a d*ck really can he?

Does he not have a point? 2nd in the league, still in all competitions, couple trophies last season. Now lads booing him and Lukaku. Clowns

He needs to be careful IMO

What’s his problem he’s creating one where there isn’t one ! Very strange ?

what is he getting out of these type of comments. He is just going to rile some supporters up. Lose the supporters and its game over.

I think the criticism of #mufc‘s gameplan at Anfield got under Mou’s skin & has made him paranoid. He’s seeing issues where there aren’t any
