What a mess at Chelsea…

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is going through a tough time at Stamford Bridge just now, and yet more stories are emerging that make grim reading for the Blues boss.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Conte hit out at Chelsea ace Kenedy during a recent team meeting at the club’s Cobham training base, after spotting the Brazilian yawning while he was talking.

This is not the first time Kenedy has been at the centre of controversy at Chelsea, with the 21-year-old sent back from their pre-season tour of China after some offensive comments in the summer, as reported at the time by the Guardian.

The Telegraph add that Conte has been generally worried by the behaviour of some of his Chelsea players recently, with poor performances and results on the pitch reflecting a dip in standards.

Conte could seemingly do no wrong last season as he guided the west Londoners to the Premier League title in his first year in charge, but retaining their crown already looks highly unlikely after this term’s poor start.

The Times recently reported that Conte was already planning to leave Chelsea at the end of the season after becoming dissatisfied with the running of the club, while Marca today claim that the Italian could even face the chop earlier after falling out with Roman Abramovich, who is on the lookout for a replacement.

The latest incident with Kenedy will add to the feeling that Conte has lost the dressing room, with the players seemingly not responding to the former Juventus boss as well as they did when he first joined.

Chelsea were well beaten by Roma this week and Conte will have been keen to get a response out of his squad, with Kenedy’s yawn suggesting the meeting with his players did not go as planned.
