Liverpool injury news: Klopp reeling as more bad news for LFC

It’s not been a good couple of days on the injury front for Liverpool, as they’ve had consecutive negative updates on two key players.

On Monday, it was reported that defender Nathaniel Clyne had suffered a setback in his recovery from a troublesome back injury, as seen in the tweet below via Anfield HQ, who quote a report from the Liverpool Echo’s Neil Jones.

The England international has yet to feature this season because of the issue, and it looks as though he may well have to push back his comeback date further given the latest development.

Given Liverpool have conceded 17 goals in 11 Premier League games so far this season, there’s no denying that Jurgen Klopp would welcome a return to the fold for his first-choice right-back with open arms, but he will likely have to now wait a little longer.

Meanwhile, the German tactician also has another problem on his hands over the international break as freelance injury analyst Ben Dinnery has suggested that Jordan Henderson could be forced to withdraw from the England squad this week.

The midfielder was ruled out of the 4-1 win over West Ham United on Saturday with a thigh injury, and it appears as though it could now see him miss upcoming international friendlies against Germany and Brazil.

While it’s not a good indication to see the injury force this potential decision, there could be some positivity to take from it as Henderson’s return to the Liverpool training ground over the next week or so will undoubtedly give him a better opportunity of receiving treatment and recovering quicker.

Liverpool face Southampton on November 18, and Klopp will hope for some positive news in the coming days ahead of that encounter at Anfield.
