Manchester United are set to go head-to-head with French giants PSG with both clubs looking to sign two of the biggest football talents currently in Madrid.

Italian football news outlet CalcioMercato have cited a report from Spanish outlet El Chiringuito that suggests PSG will look to bring both Toni Kroos and Jan Oblak to the French capital, but suggest that they will face competition to sign both stars from Manchester United.

The German Kroos has impressed since signing for Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014 and has since won the Champions League twice while at the Bernabeu alongside clinging the La Liga title last season.

Kroos understandably raised his profile after winning the World Cup with Germany in 2014 and has since been touted by many as one of the most impressive midfielders in world football.

However, the recent emergence of Casemiro into the Madrid team in the last two seasons has seen the German move down the pecking order. Combined with the continued fine form of Luka Modric, Kroos has at times found himself on the bench in big games. A move away next summer could end these troubles but it is likely to become a heated transfer saga if both the Red Devils and PSG are involved.

On the other hand, Jan Oblak has recently attracted interest from Man United according to the previously mentioned report. It would appear that United are eyeing Oblak as a possible replacement for their current number one David De Gea if he was to depart the club next summer.

But, once again the Reds will have to deal with tough competition to secure a signature with PSG also interested in acquiring Oblak’s services.
