Pep Guardiola lines up staggering €70m Man City swoop to further bolster attacking options

As if Man City didn’t already have enough attacking quality, it’s reported that Pep Guardiola has set his sights on another forward.

Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling are just four of the options at the Spanish tactician’s disposal this season when it comes to players available in attacking roles, but it seems as though he isn’t yet content with his squad.

That’s despite being top of the Premier League table with an eight-point lead along with a place in the Champions League knockout stage, all while scoring 38 goals in 11 league games and 12 in four in Europe.

Man City eye big-money swoop for Lozano

In turn, you’d be wise to think that City are well covered up front, but according to Calciomercato as per reports in Mexico, they’re ready to launch an assault for PSV Eindhoven forward Hirving Lozano, although it could cost them a whopping €70m to prise him away.

Lozano moved from his homeland and former club Pachuca this past summer, opting to join PSV and move to the Netherlands to embark on his career in Europe.

He’s started impressively too as he’s bagged 10 goals and five assists in 12 games for the Dutch giants so far this season, which is undoubtedly part of the reasoning behind City’s interest.

Having shown an ability to adapt to a new country and new league so quickly, it’s impressive from Lozano, but it remains to be seen whether or not the 22-year-old would have similar success in England as time will tell if Guardiola really moves in to try and secure a deal.

Lozano has also scored seven goals in 24 caps for Mexico, and given his age, he’ll be expected to lead ‘El Tri’ to success in the coming years as he continues to develop and improve his all-round game which is a process that would certainly benefit from Guardiola’s management, as he’s already helping the young players in his current squad take their game to the next level.
