Arsenal hilariously troll journalist after combined XI prior to Tottenham win

Arsenal secured an impressive 2-0 win over Tottenham at the Emirates on Saturday, and it looks as though they won off the pitch too.

In fairness, few expected such a classy performance from the Gunners as all the talk prior to the showdown was about a potential power shift in north London.

While Tottenham are undoubtedly a side on the up under Mauricio Pochettino, Arsenal have stagnated under Arsene Wenger in recent years, as evidenced with their trophy haul which has been limited to FA Cups.

Admittedly, Spurs haven’t ended their wait for a trophy to suggest that they’re a genuine threat to their rivals, while their away record against the top sides in the Premier League is abysmal.

However, it was still a surprise to many that not only did Arsenal secure the victory but particularly the manner in which they got it as they bullied Tottenham in the first half and matched them in every aspect with two key goals making the difference.

Prior to the game, The Daily Mail journalist Adam Crafton, along with all of his colleagues, were asked to compile their combined XI of the best from Arsenal and Tottenham.

He opted to essentially go for an entire XI of Spurs players, and the Arsenal Twitter admin team were clearly in the mood for some fun after the game as they reminded him of his call with a brilliant tweet as seen below. And it’s fair to say that the Arsenal faithful found it hilarious…
