Man Utd star makes big call after Jose Mourinho gets major boost

Man Utd were handed a huge boost at the weekend as Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo returned to the squad in the win over Newcastle United, and Pogba believes that a full-strength United can still win the Premier League title.

In their absence, particularly Pogba’s given the other two have been sidelined since last season, United lost ground in the title race with rivals Man City opening up an eight-point gap.

In turn, the Red Devils have their work cut out for them in their pursuit of the title, as Pep Guardiola’s side have looked in ominous form, winning 11 of their 12 games so far and scoring 40 goals in the process while conceding just seven.

While they’ll be expected to suffer a dip at some point in the campaign, it remains to be seen whether or not it’s a big enough dip to allow Man Utd to make up ground, who have to be perfect to take advantage, but Pogba is adamant that now that they’re getting back to full strength, confidence will grow over their title chances.

“To win the league we need all our players. When you have one injured here, one injured there, it doesn’t help. It’s always better to have a full team,” he told MUTV.

“Zlatan’s back and Marcos after a long injury. We need them to win the league and we’re really glad they’re here.”

There is still a long way to go this season and so nothing should be ruled out at such an early stage, with United of course having to believe that they’ve got every chance of lifting the trophy at the end of a long and gruelling season in which injuries and loss of form can still play a part.

They’re undoubtedly a more formidable side with the likes of Pogba and Ibrahimovic returning, but an eight-point gap isn’t something that should be easily dismissed as based on the form of Guardiola’s men so far this season, they’re rightly the early favourites to secure the title and United can’t afford to see that gap get bigger with more slip-ups.
