Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez could become a transfer target for Real Madrid this January if they miss out on the signing of Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
The Sun recently mentioned that Chelsea and Real Madrid are interested in the £100million-rated attacker, who has shone in Serie A this season with 13 goals in 13 games.
Icardi looks like he could be a great fit at Real, and Diario Gol claim he’s firmly in their plans for this winter, though Sanchez could be a decent backup option for the club.
The Chile international is due to be out of contract in the summer, with latest speculation from the Daily Mirror claiming Paris Saint-Germain are emerging as favourites to sign him as a possible replacement for Neymar.
The Mirror had previously stated that City would be his most likely destination on a free transfer next summer, but a move to the Bernabeu could be another tempting offer for him.

Sanchez is not currently playing in the Champions League with Arsenal, and a player of his calibre will no doubt feel he should be competing at that level.
The 28-year-old could be given a key role in Real’s misfiring attack, with neither Cristiano Ronaldo or Karim Benzema looking safe in their roles at present after slow starts to the season.
Madrid, however, have been dominant in the Champions League in recent seasons, winning three out of the last four, and Sanchez would certainly boost his own chances of tasting European glory were he to move to the Spanish capital.
