Manchester United will be without Paul Pogba when they face Manchester City next week after the United midfielder saw straight red against Arsenal.
The Frenchman was shown a straight red card after producing a studs up challenge on Arsenal’s right-back Hector Bellerin.
The midfielder is likely to miss United’s next three matches which of-course includes the Manchester derby.
It was a positive evening overall however for United who cut the points deficit to just five behind leaders Man City.
Two goals from Jesse Lingard and one from Antonio Valencia sealed the victory for the Red Devils. Lingard had only started twice before tonight’s match in the league this season but was given a vital role in the number ten position.
The young Englishman was superb throughout and will now be firmly back in Mourinho’s plans after struggling to find any consistent game time thus far this season.
While United are now starting to build some vital momentum it could all be undone with the suspension to Pogba who has been influential since retuning from injury.
