Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has aimed a surprise dig at Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino after refusing to rule his side out of the title race despite defeat to Manchester United.
The French tactician saw his side go down 3-1 to the Red Devils on Saturday, leaving them 15 points behind current leaders Manchester City.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino had previously admitted his side’s title hopes were over after a draw with West Brom that leaves Spurs in 6th place in the table, 18 points off the top.
Wenger, however, took a little swipe at the Argentine’s losing mentality by refusing to say the same about Arsenal even in their difficult situation and a lack of league title since all the way back in 2004.

‘I am not Pochettino, I am Arsene Wenger,’ he is quoted in the Metro.
‘I am here to fight as long as I can, as long as mathematically it’s possible you have to fight, you cannot give any other message out.’
While one has to commend Wenger for his positive attitude, it certainly doesn’t seem at all realistic that his side will come back in this title race, with the top four surely the best they can hope to achieve this term.
That said, it is not clear what Pochettino has to gain by admitting to his players that they have no chance of mounting a comeback in the title race.
