Zinedine Zidane asks Real Madrid to sign £50m-rated Arsenal star in potential January transfer window spending spree

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly a January transfer window target for Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane in a potential three-man spending spree.

According to Okdiario, Zidane has requested the addition of Sanchez in attack despite a deal for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi also looking likely this winter.

Diario Gol claimed earlier today that Icardi has a medical scheduled with Madrid for later this month, but Okdiario add that as many as two more purchases could be lined up for January.

This is bad news for Arsenal, though arguably their best chance of avoiding losing Sanchez to Manchester City, who have long been linked with the Chile international.

According to the Independent, Sanchez would command a fee of around £50million, which seems a very reasonable fee from Arsenal’s point of view given how close he is to the end of his contract.

The former Barcelona man could walk away on a free at the end of the season, though Real believe they may be able to get him on the cheap now.

Okdiario claim Los Blancos believe they could get him for £22m, and it may be that Arsenal’s price will be lower for foreign clubs as they look to avoid losing Sanchez to a Premier League rival.
