Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly pushing to sign Barcelona duo Samuel Umtiti and Sergi Roberto in a potential double swoop.

The Portuguese tactician is said to be eager to bring both players in to bolster his squad at Old Trafford, according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.

The report also states that Roberto could be available for as little as £35million, making him a real potential bargain for the Red Devils if they could persuade him to join.

United’s title hopes look to be fading this season after defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, and it’s little surprise to see reports of Mourinho looking to further bolster his squad.

Despite spending big over the summer on the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic, it still looks like more is needed in this United side.

Umtiti would be a superb addition in defence, while Roberto’s versatility makes him an ideal purchase to provide cover in both midfield and defence.

Barca surely won’t want to lose the former, but may not be able to do much to prevent the departure of the latter due to that tempting clause in his contract.
