Real Madrid in advanced talks over transfer raid on Chelsea, could lead Manchester United target to move

Real Madrid are reportedly in advanced talks over sealing the transfer of Chelsea forward Eden Hazard in a move that could benefit Manchester United.

According to Diario Gol, Marco Asensio is not happy about Real potentially signing Hazard, threatening to quit the Bernabeu if the deal does end up going through.

Don Balon have previously linked Asensio with a big-money move to Old Trafford, which is unsurprising given his impressive form over much of the last year or so.

The 21-year-old looks one of the most exciting young talents in Europe at the moment and will surely not settle for a squad player role for much longer.

United may be better able to give him the playing time he wants due to their relative lack of quality in the attacking midfield department, so could be encouraged by Diario Gol’s latest update on Hazard.

The Belgium international is one of the best players in the Premier League and if he left, freeing up Asensio to join the Red Devils, it would signal a potential major shift in power towards United.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea can still do anything to keep hold of Hazard as he seems ever nearer to moving to the Bernabeu, but the Blues have largely done well in the Roman Abramovich era not to lose their star names.
