Liverpool plan to keep Philippe Coutinho and strike major blow to Arsenal and Chelsea transfer plans

Liverpool could reportedly keep hold of Philippe Coutinho on top of sealing the transfer of Monaco winger Thomas Lemar this January, according to Empire of the Kop.

The France international has been linked with the Reds by the Independent, with Arsenal also eyeing the £90million-rated attacker.

The Independent’s report suggests Lemar could be being targeted with the view of replacing Coutinho, though EOTK insist the deals are not linked.

Jurgen Klopp already has a fearsome attacking line up to choose from with big names like Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in top form this season.

Holding on to Coutinho would be a big boost, and the addition of Lemar could give the Reds one of the deadliest front-lines in European football.

The 22-year-old shone for Monaco last season, leading to links with bigger clubs, and the Independent suggest he would rather move to Anfield over other potential offers.

Leading bookies Ladbrokes, however, have Chelsea ahead of Liverpool in their odds to seal the Lemar transfer, though Arsenal remain favourites in their listings.

Stories of Coutinho’s imminent departure have come from Catalan publication Sport, who have suggested a £133million deal is on the cards early this January after recent talks.

Liverpool fans shouldn’t fear, however, as this could still end up being a hugely promising January if EOTK’s claims prove to be correct.
