Arsenal are facing interest from Marseille in midfielder Jack Wilshere ahead of the upcoming January transfer window, according to latest reports.
The England international has not been a regular for Arsene Wenger’s side this season and is nearing the end of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Given Wilshere’s likely desire to be playing regularly ahead of the World Cup next summer, it would not be surprising to see him seek a move away this winter.
According to the Daily Mail, Marseille could provide him with that option, though this would be something of a surprise due to the small number of British players plying their trade abroad.

Still, the 25-year-old could perhaps do with a change of scene after a difficult few years in north London and a lack of real progress made under Wenger.
A loan move at Bournemouth last season seemed to do some good for Wilshere, but it hasn’t been enough to persuade Wenger to give him more playing time this term.
Some high-profile English players have represented Marseille in the past, with Joey Barton a recent example and Chris Waddle between 1989 and 1992.
