Arsenal look to have a clear run at signing Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, with no other clubs currently interested in the transfer, according to Don Balon.
The French forward has been one of the top strikers in Europe for much of the last decade, though he arguably looks past his peak after a difficult start to this season.
Arsenal could do well to snap up a proven and experienced winner at the top level, particularly as they face doubts over the future of star player Alexis Sanchez.
The Chile international is heading towards the end of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and Don Balon claim Arsene Wenger wants Benzema to replace him.

The Spanish outlet mention that Arsenal will likely only go as high as £35million with their offer for Benzema, but Real may not have much choice but to accept that.
No other clubs currently seem interested in the misfiring 29-year-old, so Madrid could find themselves needing to accept anything that comes in for him.
Another report from Don Balon lists big-name strikers such as Harry Kane and Mauro Icardi as being on Real’s radar, so offloading Benzema first could be the best move for them.
