Manchester United star’s agent reveals multiple transfer offers to leave Old Trafford

Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has a number of offers to seal a transfer away from the club and move to Serie A, according to his agent Tullio Tinti.

The Italy international has not been a regular for much of his time at Old Trafford as he’s struggled to impress since joining from Torino in the summer of 2015.

Darmian has played just four Premier League matches so far this season and only two of those were starts, though his agent claims he isn’t for sale in the January transfer window.

While it may be frustrating for the 28-year-old to continue to settle for a role as a backup, it seems the offers are there for him ahead of what could be a likely move at the end of the season, when manager Jose Mourinho would have more time to find a replacement.

‘I haven’t had any calls from Roma for the player,’ Tinti told Rete Sport, as translated by the Manchester Evening News.

‘There has been contact with other Serie A teams, but not with the Giallorossi. For the moment the lad isn’t for sale.’

In terms of full-back signings, the Daily Mirror has linked United with an interest in Juventus star Alex Sandro, though Chelsea look the current favourites for the Brazilian’s signature.
