Champions League giants given hope of signing Chelsea star as part of three-man transfer overhaul

Real Madrid have reportedly been given some encouragement that Eden Hazard could be a realistic transfer target due to his contract situation at Chelsea.

According to Marca, the Spanish giants are looking to replace their struggling front three of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale after a disappointing start to this season.

Hazard is among their targets in an attacking overhaul, with Marca also claiming Florentino Perez is looking at ambitious moves for PSG forward Neymar and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

While Neymar looks unrealistic so soon after his move from Barcelona to PSG, Marca suggest that Hazard may be attainable as he is yet to extend his contract that currently expires in 2020.

The Belgium international is one of the best attacking players in the world and could be an ideal like-for-like replacement for Ronaldo in Real’s attack, and he has hinted at interest in a move to the Bernabeu in the past.

Marca say Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane is a big admirer of Hazard, and the player too has said it would be a dream to work under the Frenchman.

‘Everyone knows the respect I have for Zidane as a player, but also as a manager. He was my idol,’ the 27-year-old was quoted by Sky Sports earlier this season.

‘I do not know what will happen in my career in the future. However, for sure, to play under Zidane would be a dream.’

Chelsea have generally done well to hold on to their star players during the Roman Abramovich era, but this latest Hazard development could certainly be a worry for Blues supporters.
