PICTURES: Frank Lampard finally celebrates scoring AGAINST Chelsea with meal out

FRANK LAMPARD may not have felt like celebrating - but he still managed to offer a smile after denying Chelsea three points against Manchester City.

Lampard came off the bench for his new side at the Etihad yesterday to equalise and rescue a 1-1 draw.

The 36-year-old refused to celebrate though and looked emotional as he clapped his old fans after the game.

But Lampard summoned the strength to go out for dinner with partner Christine Bleakley in Manchester last night.

The couple enjoyed a meal at San Carlo restaurant in the city before leaving at around 10:45pm, with the pair appearing in high spirits.

Lampard seemed overwhelmed at the final whistle, admitting he was in two minds over scoring.

"It's a really difficult one," he said. "I'd be unprofessional if I came on and didn't do my job so I'm mixed with it.

"I woke up this morning and didn't know what I wanted from today so I'm glad it's out of the way. I guess this is a happy medium."

Jose Mourinho believes the love story between Lampard and Chelsea is now over, despite the away fans singing the midfielder's name at the Etihad.

"Frank Lampard is a Man City player, I don't believe in stories of passion and heart, maybe I am too pragmatic in football," Mourinho said.

"When he decided to go to a direct competitor to Chelsea then love stories are over. He did his job as a professional."

City manager Manuel Pellegrini added: "Chelsea didn't want Frank Lampard otherwise he would still be playing for them. I told him to go and score."
