Fenerbahce have already spent over £10m on eight new players this summer, including Manchester United duo Nani and Robin van Persie.

And Terry appears to be next on their list as the club prepare for a Super Lig title challenge this season.

Terry, 34, was benched at half time during last Sunday.

but it wasn't enough to prevent City bagging two more goals in the second half.

"Zouma is the fastest defender we have in the squad," Mourinho said after the defeat.

"I know Man City are going to play counter attack and Zouma is a different player to John and was proven right because Zouma was in complete control."

Terry had his contract extended by a year this summer, meaning Fenerbahce could secure him on a free transfer next season if Chelsea do not accept their initial advance.

Van Persie came on as a 62nd-minute substitute following his switch from United in the summer.
