Jose Mourinho: Why I don't want another Diego Costa at Chelsea after Arsenal ban

JOSE MOURINHO has had another swipe at the FA over their decision to ban Diego Costa.

The Chelsea boss said he was pleased he only has one Costa due to the desire to suspend him.

Costa was hit with a three game ban for violent conduct following his clash with Arsenal's Laurent Koscielny.

Referee Mike Dean missed the incident but Costa was banned retrospectively.

Costa has served two games of the ban - against Walsall and Newcastle - and will return for the Champions League clash with Porto tomorrow night.

"We would lose every game," said Mourinho when asked how a team of Diego Costas would get on.

"The desire to suspend him is so great that you wouldn't have enough players to start the game.

"I am happy to only have one and let him play until they decide to suspend him again."

The Blues beat Maccabi Tel Aviv in their opening Group G fixture and a win in Portugal would put them in control of the group.

Chelsea are ready to make big changes with Mourinho set to axe six of his stars following the Newcastle draw.

Mourinho was left furious following his team's performance in the north east.

Chelsea are 15th after seven games, having won just twice in the Premier League.

"What has to change? The attitude of the players, because in the first half against Newcastle it was really poor," Mourinho said.

“Six of them were walking on the pitch, six of them were looking to the opponents moving the ball and just playing comfortably in their areas.

"When they got the ball it was slow thinking, slow decisions — that has to change. If it doesn’t change, we will lose in Porto, for sure, because they are a better team than Newcastle.”
