Man United boss Mourinho: My star players are losing confidence after successive defeats

JOSE MOURINHO has admitted his Manchester United players are low on confidence after a miserable week.

The Red Devils suffered a shock 1-0 failure tonight in Holland against Feyenoord, despite starting a strong team.

Wayne Rooney, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw were left behind but Mourinho still had the likes of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Eric Bailly in his XI.

However, following United's 2-1 derby defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, United's star men are lacking morale.

And Mourinho does not have the cure, outlining winning is the only way for his team to bounce back.

"When you lose matches, there are no miracles in terms of the players' soul,” Mourinho said.

“You win matches, people are happy and full of confidence. You lose matches and people are sad and feel it.

“Obviously, when you lose matches, the mood is not the same, that's normal.

“That's the normal nature of football players, but I'm here not to let them be in a negative mood or in a negative period because we lost two matches in four days."

Mourinho is set to name a full strength side in less than three days time when United travel to Watford (12pm).
